After a long dramatical suspense Google has finally announced the official name of latest version of its Android mobile Operating System. And surprisingly it’s not Nutella. Presenting the Android Nougat.
As we all know, Android has continuing its OS naming alphabetically ordered sugary delights (except A-Alpha B-Beta) with C-Cupcake, D-Donuts, E-Eclair, F-Froyo, G-Gingerbread, H-Honeycomb, I-Ice Cream S-Sandwich, J-Jelly Bean, K-KitKat, L-Lollipop, and M-Marshmallow and finally N-Nougat as 7.0. Rumor by tech enthusiast with Android N as Nutella but it’s not.
Regarding the release date for Android Nougat, it not officially announced yet and said as the final release is still in beta and due later this summer. Some feature embedded on Android N Developer preview:
- Multi-Window API
- Reply to message Directly form notification panel or remaining on any other app
- Better Battery Life(Obviously)
- Data Saver (Improved!)
- Sustained Performance
- Seamless Updates
- Rid of launcher shortcuts on Android N
- Multi Locale mode for polyglot language support
- Night mode
- Google Keyboard theme
- More changes in multitasking
On the Android 7.0, it will bring a redesigned notification panel, a split-screen multi-window mode, VR enhancements, seamless updates, a new Data Saver mode, support for side-by-side apps, and a lot of other improvements.
Nougat is a family of confections made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts and let’s see how user response its deliciousness and sweetness. You can now download Android Nougat Developer Preview and test its new features that didn’t make the cut in last November’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow launch alongside the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.
